Yuri Bazán is a bilingual trial lawyer at the Law Offices of Franklin D. Azar and Associates whose practice focuses on personal injury disputes. Yuri is licensed to practice law in Colorado and New Mexico. Yuri’s professional associations include the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, Colorado Women’s Bar Association, and the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association. At Franklin D. Azar and Associates, Yuri primarily focuses on serving the Spanish-speaking community and clients who have been injured in a motor vehicle accident.

Yuri was born in Miguel Alemán, Tamaulipas, Mexico. At seven years old, Yuri and her mother, Diana immigrated to a border town in Peñitas, Texas, where she spent most of her childhood and teen years. Her mother, Diana, worked at a local school as a custodian. Yuri’s mother raised her with an emphasis on education. Before graduating high school, Yuri had completed 32 college hours, the equivalent of a full year in college.

Yuri attended the University of Texas – Pan American, where she earned her B.A. in International Business Management with a minor in Political Science. Yuri went on to earn her Judicial Doctor Degree from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law. While in law school, Yuri was an extern with the Colorado Juvenile Defense Center. On Yuri’s third year of law school, she was chosen to become a student attorney in the Criminal Defense Clinic. Yuri’s focus was concentrated on representing clients with criminal charges and ordinance violations. Yuri was also involved with the Civil Rights Clinic, in which she researched sentencing proportionality, drug offender laws, and the former habitual criminal statutes in Colorado.

Following her graduation from Sturm, Yuri became a law clerk with the Jeffrey Kelley Law Firm, where she primarily focused on civil litigation issues relating to motorcycle and motor vehicle accidents. After her work with the Kelley Law Firm, Yuri began a new venture with Muhaisen and Muhaisen LLC, where she focused on helping Spanish-speaking clients with family law and personal injury disputes.

In her personal time, Yuri enjoys hiking in Colorful Colorado with her three year old daughter Cristabella, and traveling to Mexico.
