A good education should be available to any Coloradan who wants one –
and we want to help you succeed in that goal.
That is why we started the Franklin D. Azar & Associates, P.C. Scholarship Fund & The Trinidad Golf Association. Each year, we’ll award local students who just needs a little bit of help to achieve their dream.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the scholarship, you must:

Provide proof of residency in Las Animas County, Colorado.

Provide proof of acceptance or upcoming enrollment in an accredited college or university.

Be pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

Demonstrate involvement in the community through volunteer work, leadership, civic engagement, or community service (mentoring, school activities)

Explain how you intend to use your education and experiences to positively impact Las Animas County in the future.

Agree that scholarship funds will be used solely for educational purposes/costs.

Submit an essay of up to 1000 words, answering the following question: How has living in a small town changed your outlook?

Submit your application and additional documentation by August 31, 2026.
Scholarship money may be paid directly to the college or university at your request. With the acceptance of the award, the winning applicant consents to having their name, photo, and essay published (in whole or in part) on the Firm’s website if the Firm so chooses.
Investing In The Next Generation Of Leaders
The Azar Scholarship Fund was created to support students from Las Animas County, Colorado, who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree and are committed to making a positive impact in their communities.
Founded by Frank Azar, a proud Trinidad native, the scholarship reflects his lifelong commitment to his hometown. For more than 30 years, Frank has supported the Trinidad community through his annual golf tournament, helping raise funds and bring people together for meaningful causes.
This scholarship extends that legacy by investing in the next generation of leaders. By helping local students achieve their educational goals, we hope to empower them to use their knowledge, skills, and experiences to strengthen and give back to Las Animas County for years to come.
