On January 31, 2019, Hill’s Pet Nutrition announced that it would recall several varieties of their Prescription Diet and Science Diet canned dog food over concerns that the products contained excessive amounts of Vitamin D. An excess of Vitamin D can lead to, among other things, vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst and urination, excessive drooling, and weight loss.
