“The courtroom is the ultimate arena for David to battle Goliath.”

Born and raised in Westchester County New York, David was very lucky to know by age 12 that he was destined to be a trial lawyer. With a family doctor for a father and an art teacher for a mother, he was drawn in at an early age to the drama of the courtroom, and the challenges that the common man has in attaining justice.

He graduated in 1988 from the University of Vermont with a B.A. in political science. From there he spent a year as a ski instructor in Breckenridge Colorado, fulfilling a life-long dream of skiing and exploring the Rockies. He then attended the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, where he graduated in 1994 with cum laude honors, and served as the Editor-In-Chief of the John Marshall Journal of Computer and Information Law.

After serving as an appellate law clerk and writing several legal opinions for the Illinois Court of Appeals, he worked in the commercial arena for Arnstein & Lehr, one of Chicago’s oldest and largest law firms. However, Colorado kept calling him, and in 1998 he moved to Denver to raise his family.

After several years defending corporations and insurance companies, in 2009, David was offered a prestigious partnership in an insurance defense law firm. Instead, he changed course, and decided to devote his career to helping the underdog and representing injured clients as a fully commissioned Plaintiff’s attorney. From there, David became a partner at Denver’s second-largest personal injury law firm, where he served as Managing Partner of Litigation, obtained the highest settlement in the history of the firm and completed 14 first-chair jury trials.

David joined the Azar team in February 2020 to be part of Denver’s largest personal injury firm, in order to have the resources of a deep pool of highly skilled and motivated trial attorneys. As part of the Litigation team, he works directly with clients as they challenge billion-dollar insurance companies for justice.

Outside of his law practice, David is an avid ice hockey player, skier, snowboarder, mountain biker, guitar player and an extremely proud father.
